Mobile shower trailers accommodate many events and clients, from multi-day festivals to emergency response activities. Yet, market needs vary by location, and portable restroom operators consider several factors before purchasing shower units.
Many PROs have expressed interest in shower trailers and shared their experiences entering this sector. Now, we want to hear from you. Below, we review some of the top questions and concerns of new and established business owners. Please share your insights by emailing us at info@johntalk.com or contacting JohnTalk on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter. Or, leave a comment at the bottom of this page.
PROs understand that deploying the right facilities is essential, and trailers can fit into an operator’s business model. Shower trailers serve a broad range of needs, from family reunions to long-term relief projects. Temporary rentals allow a campground to handle peak season without huge infrastructure investment. Likewise, PROs can support federal, state, and municipal agencies during emergency or construction work.
However, shower trailer demand varies by location. Why did you enter the portable shower unit market? What type of clients request shower trailers? Were you the first in your area to do so, or did you add shower units to stay competitive?
Restroom trailers come in multiple styles and sizes, and choosing just one or two can be challenging. While a combination restroom and shower trailer fits certain circumstances, a standalone three- or eight-station shower unit may work better in other cases.
How did you decide which type to buy? Do certain clients lean toward shower units over combo trailers? Looking back on your decision, would you recommend PROs look at shower trailers or combination units?
Your drivers stick to a regular portable restroom servicing routine. Different equipment may require schedule changes or employee training. What adjustments did you make after adding shower trailers to your fleet? Did you train staff on properly servicing a shower trailer or create a separate checklist?
Also, when it comes to luxury trailer rentals, do you mandate on-site attendant(s)? Or, offer this option as an add-on service for high-touch events? Have you changed your contract language to prevent misuse or unit damage?

Once you select a luxury trailer or standalone shower unit, it needs to earn money. The best part of trailer rentals is the ample space available for your company name and phone number. In some ways, it markets itself. But we know it’s vital to have a marketing plan.
What marketing techniques work for your business? Are you approaching local agencies directly or bringing your trailer to community events? Have you considered a short-term charity donation for exposure?
Shower trailers can support remote locations or improve guest experiences at campgrounds and festivals. And for PROs, the investment can pay off quickly while helping their business remain competitive. But it’s not a decision to make on the fly, and portable restroom operators would appreciate your input. Please message us at info@johntalk.com or on Facebook, LinkedIn, or Twitter.
