I’m thinking about putting a safety manual together for my guys. Any suggestions for what I should put in there?

Steven, that would be a great idea. We will try to put together an article about this topic as well. But in the interim, I would recommend focusing on the items that are have been issues at your company.

Have you had any accidents or incidents this past year? A great practice is to review the incident or injury with the entire team in the following weeks after it occurred. This will draw attention to the exact topic that caused the injury or incident and hopefully prevent others from doing the same thing.

A few basic topics related to servicing portable toilets are:
        -Loading and unloading units safely
-Awareness- checking surroundings before moving units or moving your truck after entering a job site.
-PPE (making sure you have the right equipment required by some job sites – safety glasses, vests, safety toe boots, etc.)
-Chemical safety; how to read and understand SDS’s.

I hope this helps get you started!
